Anika’s Dave’s Olde Book Shop Pick of the Month:
I’ve been shopping at Dave’s Olde Book Shop for years, so when they recently started a Tumblr and wanted to partner up, I jumped at the chance! I love supporting independent used bookstores and Dave’s is one of the best.
Dave’s lovely employees are choosing books of the month and now I’m choosing one as well. My first pick, after carefully browsing the store, is The Oracle of Stamboul by Michael David Lukas. Here’s the plot blurb and I will post a review once I’ve read it!
Plot: A historical novel about an extraordinary eight-year-old girl at the end of The Ottoman Empire, Eleonora Cohen stows away on a ship to follow her merchant father to the imperial capital city of Stamboul. She finds herself tragically stranded in the city, but amidst gossip, intrigues, harems, and delicious spices, she finds her way to the Sultan’s court, where she will change the course of the empire.

I thought I’d mention that I’ve been writing weekly comic reviews if any of you are interested!
I just put up this week’s write-ups over on my personal blog. :)
The RECollection I ordered from hitRECord.org pretty much the day it was announced arrived today! It’s absolutely beautiful and wonderful. Stories, music, and film all in one. <3
